Planning note
Book a room for the city you want to explore
Compare Amsterdam and Edinburgh addresses, building access and the room format that fits your city break.
A few things to keep in mind

Let two addresses suggest two different days
In Amsterdam, Hotel Estheréa lists Singel 303–309, while Kimpton De Witt lists Nieuwezijds Voorburgwal 5. Put both addresses beside your arrival point and your planned neighbourhood walks. In Edinburgh, compare the Grassmarket options with ibis Styles at St Andrew Square: the district changes the shape of the day before the room enters the comparison.
Ask about the building you will actually use
A city-centre address does not describe the route from pavement to bedroom. Ask about steps, lift access and the entrance if any of these affect your stay. For an Edinburgh arrival, include slopes and changes of level in the luggage journey; a short straight-line distance is not the whole route.
Choose between a room routine and an apartment routine
Wilde Aparthotels Edinburgh Grassmarket offers an apartment-format comparison in this shortlist. If you intend to prepare food, check the exact cooking equipment and housekeeping terms in the selected unit. For a conventional room, decide whether breakfast and bag storage solve more of your actual day than extra floor space.
Keep the reservation in step with the city break
Check arrival and departure times against your train or flight before choosing the rate. Compare the same beds, dates and occupancy on both providers, and save the cancellation deadline in its stated time zone. If a canal view or castle outlook matters, find that wording in the category you are paying for rather than relying on the gallery.
